Press Release - October 16th 2007
On the 1st October, Eco Energi's Managing Director, Dr Matthew Goodwin, took part in the 'Climate Change, World Development and YOU!' event hosted by Christian Aid at North Staffordshire University. Matthew was one of the panel of experts questioned by the 150 strong audience. Other members of the panel included Joan Walley MP who is Vice Chairperson of the government's Environmental Audit Committee; local councillor Paul Billington; Amanda Farrant from Christian Aid; and senior members of Green Peace and Friends of the Earth.
Of the event Matthew said "It was really heartening to see so many people turn up on a Monday evening to discuss how we can all help our planet and reverse some of the damage that mankind has done to the environment. The majority of the audience were clearly very clued up on the current situation but talking to many of the attendees, and in answering some of the questions put to the panel, it is clear that the majority of people still have very little idea of just how sustainable technologies can reduce their energy bills. Once people realise that sustainable technologies don't just help save the environment, but also save them money by utilising free, clean energy, then the sooner we can start to make an impact on the harmful emissions that we produce."
